Topaz Elements at OUHSC is used for:

  • IACUC and IBC Protocol Development and Submission
  • Census Tracking and Management
  • Placing Animal Orders
  •  Billing for Animal Orders and Census Per Diem
  • Viewing Invoices

How to Access Topaz Elements

TOPAZ Elements User Access Request

  • New User

    If you are a new user and need to create an initial/new TOPAZ Elements account, please click here to fill out the TOPAZ Elements Access Form

  • Add New Bill-To or Per-Diem Account for Animal Orders:

    If you are trying to place an Animal Order and need to add a new bill-to account or per-diem account in TOPAZ Elements animal order form, please click here.

  • You are an account Billing Administrator, and you need to access an invoice:

    If you are a billing administrator, and you need access to an invoice, please email compmedhousingrequests@ou.edu with your account information.  If you are a new user and need billing access, please fill out the "new user" form above.

  • You need to be "authorized to order animals" on a protocol:

    If you need to be authorized to order animals on a protocol, the PI must request this, through the IACUC, with an administrative amendment. Please have your PI contact the IACUC at IACUC@ou.edu

You can access TOPAZ Elements with any modern browser, including Safari, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge.

Network Requirements

On Campus

  • Wired connection – Connect via ethernet on the OUHSC local network.
  • Wireless connection (WiFi@OU) – Your device must be registered with HSCACCESS.
    This requires your IT department to submit a SNAP registration request. Please ask your IT support team to submit your laptop information using this ticket:
    Service – Secure Network Access Program (SNAP)

Off Campus

  • You must connect through the GlobalProtect VPN.
    • To download GlobalProtect, open Software Center on your laptop
    • Or visit https://connect2.ouhsc.edu to download the client for your workstation.

Access TOPAZ

Once the above requirements are met:

Animal Ordering Guide

This PowerPoint presentation provides two step-by-step guides for using TOPAZ Elements:

Viewing Invoices

Monthly invoices are available in the "My Dashboard" and "My Bills" section of TOPAZ Elements. If you are a billing administrator, and need to view the bills, please email comp-med@ouhsc.edu with your account number.  If you are a new user, and need to create an account in TOPAZ Elements,  please fill out the TOPAZ Access Form here.

Viewing "My Bills" Guide:


Log in to TOPAZ Elements.

  1. On your main screen, click "My Dashboard"
  2. On the left hand side, click "My Bills"
  3. Invoices will appear on the right. Please be aware that it will only show 10 invoices at a time. To view more invoices or increase the number of invoices shown on the screen, use the buttons at the bottom of the screen.
  4. If you would like to print your invoice, put a check-mark by the invoices you would like to print, and click the print button. It will open in a PDF document.
  5. NOTE:  Only the last invoicing period will show up in your dashboard.  If you wish to view an invoice from a previous billing period, you will need to use the advanced filter option. 

Viewing Invoices (from Past Billing Cycles)

The dashboard of "my bills" only displays the most recent billing period's invoices.  To see past invoices, use the Advanced Filter Panel:

  1. To make a new filter, click on the funnel with the blue arrow icon.
  2. Click the “Create New Filter” icon, which is the funnel with the yellow star.
  3. Type a name your filter (i.e., “Invoice Number”) and then click on the green plus sign to add a filter row.
  4. Select "Invoice #" from the list of filter choices, and type the invoice number you are looking for in the text box. In this example, it would pull up invoice 4762. Click the floppy disk icon (save). You should be able to filter directly to the invoice.
